Soil is a living system.
Organic matter, moisture, microorganisms and nutrient availability all interact beneath the crop.
Rijona's agricultural work explores how neem and other biological materials can contribute to nutrient management, soil health and botanical crop protection — then tests those ideas against the realities farmers face in the field.
Soil · nitrogen · neem · crop care · field testing
Fertilizer performance is not determined only by how much nutrient is applied. Timing, soil conditions, biological activity, nutrient losses and the way plants access those nutrients all affect the final result.
This is where neem becomes particularly interesting to us: not simply as a crop or oil source, but as a biological material that can be incorporated into agricultural systems.
Nitrogen fertilizers can lose part of their nutrient value after application through several pathways. Rijona's work with neem-coated urea explores how neem oil can be incorporated into fertilizer management to improve nutrient-use efficiency.
Under Rijona's tested conditions, our neem-coated urea work recorded reductions in nitrogen losses of up to 50% and crop yield improvements of up to 30%. These results reflect the tested conditions and are not presented as guaranteed outcomes for every farm.
The AgriNeemix work spans organic inputs, fertilizer modification, botanical crop care and farmer testing.

Botanical crop care
Organic matter, moisture, microorganisms and nutrient availability all interact beneath the crop.
Applying fertilizer is only part of the problem. Retaining nutrients and improving their availability matters too.
Neem provides oil, seed cake and biologically active materials that can be explored across different farm applications.
Formulation is only the beginning. Farmers help us understand whether an input is practical, how it performs under local conditions and what needs to change before wider use.
That is why field engagement is part of Rijona's agricultural development process rather than something that happens only after a product is finished.
